WATER FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Water fire extinguishers can be used for Class A fires (solids only, such as wood, paper, plastics and fabrics). They are not suitable for controlling Class B liquid fires such as paraffin, petrol or oil-based fires. We ideally look to replace the water every 5 years.
CO2 FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
CO2 fire extinguishers are mainly aimed at electrical fires but are also suitable for Class B liquid fires ((petrol, oil, solvents) and are used in different ways depending on the type of fire they are being used on.
FOAM FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Foam Fire Extinguishers are suitable to fight flammable solids such as wood as well as liquid fires such as burning petrol. Foam fire extinguishers create a cooling blanket effect, smothering burning materials and preventing re-ignition.
DRY POWDER FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Standard dry powder fire extinguishers are very versatile and can put out virtually every kind of fire. A dry powder fire extinguisher is multi-purpose and can be used on Class A, B and C fires. Ideally suited for garage forecourts, large boiler rooms and large workshops.
WET CHEMICAL FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
Wet chemical fire extinguishers are most commonly used to provide fire protection in commercial cooking operations, including restaurants & pubs. Wet chemical fire extinguishers are designed for use on Class F fires, involving cooking oils and fats. An essential safety kit for professional kitchens.
Why is it important to maintain and service a fire extinguisher?
Fire extinguishers are pressurized containers that can lose their effectiveness over time, and regular maintenance is essential to keep them in good working condition. Fire extinguisher maintenance can reduce the risks associated with fires and ensure maximum safety for you and your family or your staff and employees. Regular inspection and servicing of fire extinguishers will ensure that they are in optimal working condition when needed to put out a fire.
We service and supply all types of fire extinguishers to the British Standard BS5306 and work across all sectors covering education, commercial, retail, hospitality, industrial and domestic premises.
